John W. Weingardt, CPA, is a shareholder of PSW with over 35 years of experience in public accounting. His public accounting experience has been with a national CPA firm as well as a sole practitioner. John’s experience has an emphasis in taxation, closely held businesses, estate planning, and exit planning for business owners.
During John’s time at PSW, he has assisted our clients with their tax and small business consulting needs. John is skilled in all phases of the entrepreneurial journey including formation, tax-saving strategies, profit improvement, and the eventual sale and monetization of the business owner’s interest in the business.
John is a graduate cum laude from the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor’s of Science in accounting, economics, and business administration. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Indiana and is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of CPA’s.
John is active in politics in the City of Fishers. He currently serves as a City Councilor and is chair of the Budget and Finance Committee. He is on the board of directors at Launch Fishers, an entrepreneurial workplace in Fishers, the Fishers Police Foundation, the Riverview Health Foundation, and Phoenix Theater. In his spare time, he enjoys classic car collecting and spending time with family and friends.
John lives in Fishers, Indiana with his wife of 38 years, Tina. John has three children: Ashley (Chris); Abby (Ben), and John (Sarah). John also has five grandchildren (Ellie, Quinn, Clara, Birdie, and Baker).
Mike Potter, CPA is a shareholder and managing principal of PSW with over 30 years of public accounting experience. His focus is on assurance services, buy-sell transactional consulting, and management advisory services.
Mike began his career in 1987 with an international accounting firm specializing in audits for publicly traded companies. He ultimately joined PSW starting the firm’s audit and assurance services practice area in 1992. He became a partner with the firm in 1996. Mike directs the firm’s assurance services across a broad spectrum of closely-held and not-for-profit entities.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ball State University. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Indiana and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society.
Mike serves on the board of the Megan S. Ott Foundation and is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Riley Festival.
Mike and his wife live in Greenfield, Indiana and are the proud parents of three sons and one daughter and the proud grandparents of four (and counting) grandchildren. In his spare time, Mike enjoys whitewater rafting, hiking, and traveling.
Gino Johnson, CPA has over 35 years of accounting experience. His focus is on tax compliance and controversy issues as well as providing management advisory services to clients. As the former managing partner of the firm, he brings real-world experience in advising clients on how to grow their company.
Gino began his accounting career at the Internal Revenue Service where he worked in both the collection and audit divisions for 6 years. After leaving the Internal Revenue Service he joined a large local firm that eventually merged with the international accounting firm of Laventhol & Horwath. During his time at Laventhol & Horwath, he was able to broaden his knowledge of the tax code to include planning for high-net-worth individuals as well as structuring tax advantaged transactions. After Laventhol &Horwath dissolved he remained in the Indianapolis area joining with other former partners and employees to create a local firm with deep technical knowledge. He became a partner at PSW in 1993 and served for many years as the managing partner. His client base encompasses a wide variety of industries as well as not-for-profit organizations and high-net-worth individuals. Gino currently serves as Principal Emeritus with PSW.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and did postgraduate work in accounting at both IUPUI and Butler University. Gino is a licensed CPA in the state of Indiana and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society, and the National Association of Tax Professionals.
Gino serves on the Advisory Board of ABATE of Indiana, the Board of Lawrence County Recreational Park, and is a board member of C.L.A.S.S Education, Inc. and Noblesville Creates.
Gino and his wife live in Fishers, Indiana, and are the proud parents of a son and a daughter. In his spare time, Gino enjoys woodworking and is an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
